Rapper, Diddy slams United States President Donald Trump for scraping the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) which now threatens the livelihood of some 800,000 Dreamers as they are fondly called living in the United States.
The policy was created by then-president Barack Obama in 2012 following pressure from advocates who wanted to protect some young undocumented immigrants from deportation.
Sadly, just yesterday, President Donald Trump ended the policy threatening some 800,000 people and this stirred nationwide protest, with many people accusing the president of enabling racism and xenophobia.
Reacting to the outrage, Diddy took to his Instagram to make series of posts, slamming the president and standing with the Dreamers.
“This is really getting crazy! Let’s wake up people. Spread the word,” said the rap boss in one post.
While his cries, and those of the others, have showed passion, new reports add that President Trump was forced to cancel DACA because of the pressures from some states which threatened to sue his administration if he didn’t end it, even though advocates, including Apple boss and business moguls, had urged him to not cancel. But he chose to listen to the anti-DACA.
Following the outrage, Melissa Mark-Viverito,who is the Speaker of the New York City Council, issued a strong statement in support of the Dreamers.
