The Triangular Group of Pensioners, TGP, in Osun State have issused a critcism to their counterparts in the Forum of 2011/2012 Retirees for setting up an Internally Displaced Pensioners’ camp in Osogbo last week.

Chairman of the Triangular Group of Pensioners, Mr. Rotimi Adelugba, disclosed that the setting up of the IDP camp as mocking Nigerians who had been victimized by insurgency attack in their homes in the North-East.

At a programme organised to appreciate Governor Rauf Aregbesola on Friday 13th January 2017 for paying #9.4bn as pensioners benefit which are øf the 2015 to 2016 retirees only, Adelugba filed the criticism at IDP camp organisers.

Also commending the governor who had also paid their pensions up till December 2016. He said the governor has performed well despite the economic recession in the country.

Adelugba said, “We, The Triangular Group of Pensioners, observe with dismay and totally condemn the mocking of our compatriots in the north-eastern states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe who are in the Internally Displaced Persons’ camps.

“It is wicked, ungodly, insensitive and inhuman, therefore, to make the trauma of these people the butt of jokes and comedy by politically-motivated pensioners.

“Though, we also need the money, we realised that we must show understanding since we also know the financial status of the Osun State Government.

“The state government has paid up our modulated pension up till December 2016. We are aware that the payment of pension gulped N9.4bn from the coffers of the state government and this is commendable.”
