Some angry youths in Tudun Wada community of Kaduna South Local Government  Area as well as kastina  and sokoto states was  reported to have  attacked and suspected members of the Shi’a sect, killed and properties destroyed including that  of the group leader .



The incident that happened on Wednesday led to lost of lives and properties as vehicles were also burnt down. According to source the mob also demolished the Shiite’s Islamic school in the area. One of the Shiite member claimed that it was the police that gave the angry youths the go ahead to attack us and destroy our properties.

While the local BBC Hausa service reported that the people were killed when army and police intervened to block an annual Shia procession on the day of Ashura, which commemorates the death of Husayn ibn Ali, who is believed to be the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.
Witnesses told BBC Hausa that shots were fired and people counted at least eight bodies. Kastina and other states have banned Shia processions in the Sunni Muslim-majority north, where Shia Muslims are living.



In Kastina state about five people have been feared killed,two in Kaduna and another two in sokoto as a the time of the reports .the injured causalities are yet to be identified. Earlier in October, it was gathered that  the Kaduna State Government declared the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) unlawful.
